Wyldest - Wanders

With a new monicker that sounds a bit like a Terry Pratchett Discworld novel, London / South Coast duo Wyldest (formerly Wildest Dreams - but there's already an act called that hence the name change) have been doing very nicely since they first appeared on Breaking More Waves in May. They've picked up a decent smattering of blog love for their first demo Dark Matter, got a mention in the NME (although these days we're not sure how important that really is) and despite having only played a handful of live shows since their formation earlier this year, they beat 500 other entrants to win the Green Man Festival's Rising competition, securing a slot on the Mountain Stage as their prize.

So this second release from the duo (who we understand have now fleshed out their live appearances with a drummer) is well timed and coaxes us back into their lovely world, rather than one that is a flat disc balanced on the backs of four elephants which, in turn, stand on the back of a giant turtle. If you want to hear exactly how that word lovely sounds in musical form you should listen right now. Synths bubble with beauty, ethereal guitars chime as if they’ve just landed from heaven and honey-sweet female vocals coo like spring has just started. All we need now are fairies and waterfalls and then we'll give in completely to Wanders.
