24 Hour Blogathon : White Royal - False Widow
Leeds three-piece White Royal made their debut on Breaking More Waves last month with Embassy and now they follow it up with False Widow. The band may be from colder more northerly regions of England but False Widow provides a mellow hazy heat rather than the rain, wind and the cold. False Widow takes its starting point with some simple reverb laden guitar work and then slowly unfurls from there. Is there such a genre as ambient-indie? Well if there isn’t White Royal have just invented it. Soothing and melancholic for those who have had a flustered day.
