Shura - White Light

A couple of evenings ago we went to see electronic pop 'sensation' Shura. We're not quite sure what the deal with the lighting at the show was, but it seemed that the venue concerned was the gig equivalent of a UK Local Authority's budget for 2015/16 - there had been some severe austerity measures put in place. So the whole event was bathed in a constant saturation of purple - from start to finish. Nothing else - just purple lights, unchanging, constant, always forever purple. Prince would have loved it mind you.

We mention this because it seems that the venue didn't get the message. For Shura has a new song and it's not called purple light, but White Light. It's the sort of tune that shouts quite loudly 'SET CLOSER', being as near to a glow sticks in the air banger as you're likely to get from Shura's soft focus electronic pop sound (don’t be fooled by the XX like ambient intro). At over 7 minutes long this one isn't going to be A-listed for daytime radio and attention deficit disorder types may struggle with it, but for the rest of us, White Light is an immersive multi-coloured dance floor delight.
