Shannon Saunders - Lo-Fi

It’s almost as if the new song from Shannon Saunders (a previous Breaking More Waves blog inductee last year) was made for April Fools’ Day. Its title is Lo-Fi, but she’s having you on with that one, because this is a silky smooth and cool piece of electronic pop, that has a rather good go at stealing the ‘dark seductive electronic pop’ crown from Banks. It ticks all those rainy, immersive, sexy late night listening boxes: “Velvet brushes on your lips, so addicted to the fix, no when you cannot resist, the power of our kiss,” Shannon sings before she commands “slow it down and feel me.” Blimey – we’ll take back that description of cool shall we? This one’s a little bit steamy. We’re off for a cold shower.

Shannon will be playing at this year’s Great Escape festival in Brighton and has a couple of other new songs that she’ll be releasing in the very near future.
