Laura Doggett has just finished a mini tour of the West Country. In a magical moment the support act was the Breaking More Waves approved and much blogged singer songwriter Alice Jemima, who each night, towards the end of the main set, took to the stage to sing a duet with Laura. We understand that the song might just find its way out into the world at some point in the not too distant future.
To follow the tour Laura has just released the video for Into The Glass, which we’re streaming below. There's a bit of a 'Kate Winslet in Titanic with the steamed up window' moment, somebody playing Laura's boyfriend who gets the grand job of just sleeping in bed and yes a moment when Laura escapes into the sexy otherworld by literally jumping 'into the glass'.
What we love about Into The Glass musically is the way that Laura enunciates every vocal line, but also that she sings with a real passion. You get a sense that she’s not just singing the words, but feeling them with every ounce of her body. This is soul music in the truest sense of the word – it’s coming from deep within.
With a busy summer ahead of her with lots of festivals, including Great Escape, Dot To Dot and Somersault already confirmed plus her own headlining show at London’s Xoyo on May 13th, plus even better songs to come, it looks like it's going to continue to be an exciting year for Laura Doggett.
