We’ve already waxed lyrical about the fantastic Crybaby, an artist that we believe has put out one of the most beautifully crafted albums of the year, and whilst the record is still very much a ‘quiet’ release word of mouth is spreading. This was helped the other day when the song When The Lights Go Out won the vote on Steve Lamacq’s rebel playlist on BBC 6 Music with 59% of the votes and therefore received airplay every day on the station.
Now Crybaby has uploaded When The Lights Go Out (which we featured here) and another track from the album called Shame for public sharing on Soundcloud and so we can do no more than feature the song in the hope that someone out there will press play, fall in love as we have and go and buy the album. It’s a deeply satisfying listen.
Crybaby will play a very intimate show at St. Pancras Old Church in London on the 24th of May, which unfortunately we can’t attend, but it promises to be a very special night for those that can.
