“Nina Nesbitt is an acoustic-folk-pop rising star.”
Those were our words back in May after seeing the young and outrageously talented singer songwriter back at Brighton’s Great Escape. Now here’s some proof. New single Boy swaggers with a tuneful passion and stomp, underpinning a song about a relationship that’s been dived into too quickly. We’ve all been there at some point haven’t we? The chemicals are surging through the body, it feels like love, but unless that love is built on something solid it will inevitably go wrong. “Well I’m sorry to be honest but this love is no good boy and I’m sorry you’re drunk on it but you’re making me annoyed,” sings Nina before adding “we were rushed we had no foundations, explanations were never settled first.” Stirring stuff. Nina's disappointment will probably be her gain, expanding her growing army of fans.
You can catch Nina Nesbitt this weekend at Bestival (we’ll almost certainly be watching her) and then on her own headlining UK tour in October (tickets available here). Boy is released on the 15th October.
