Today Breaking More Waves is at Pilton Working Mens Club, just metres from Worthy Farm, home of the world famous Glastonbury Festival. The reason? The Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition live final.
The 8,000 bands that entered have been whittled down to the final 8, a process which we were involved in the initial stages of. Each judge was allocated 200 bands to listen to and had to choose three to put through to the next round of judging. You can see the 120 bands that made it through the first round, including our choices here.
One of the bands we selected was As Elephants Are whose blend of epic indie rock will please fans of The Maccabees. As we nash our teeth and shout “they were robbed” (they didn’t make it through to the final eight), we can find some consolation in this new video the group released this week for the song Youth Blood.
The Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition live final itself can be watched worldwide via a live stream from the Glastonbury website (click here) from about 6.30pm tonight.
