Julia Stone - Bloodbuzz Ohio

In 2010 The National’s High Violet was the Breaking More Waves album of the year. It’s a timelessly subtle piece of work, a very adult rock record, a recording to return to time and time again. Whilst we’d be reluctant to pick standout tracks from such an immaculate album, at a push we’d probably name England, Runaway, Terrible Love and Bloodbuzz Ohio as choice tracks.

Now Australian chanteuse Julia Stone brings a new found lightness to Bloodbuzz Ohio with plucked acoustic guitars, pattering drums and her soft, easy vocal delivery. It’s beautifully understated and is best listened to alone during a quiet moment. It's from her new album By The Horns which is out now.
